Bel-Aire and Mayfair are two southwest residential neighbourhoods in the City of Calgary.  Mayfair was established as a neighbourhood in 1957, and Bel-Aire in 1960.  Bel-Aire and Mayfair are located just east of where the Glenmore Reservoir is drained by the Elbow River and west of Elbow Drive and the community of Meadlowlark Park.   The Calgary Golf and Country Club is Bel-Aire’s northern boundary, and Glenmore Trail is directly south of Mayfair.

Residents of Bel-Aire and Mayfair have access to many recreational activities provided by the proximity to the Glenmore Reservoir, and the highly regarded network of parks and pathways found along the reservoir and up the Elbow River.
With direct access to Elbow Drive and Glenmore Trail, these communities are able to access any amenities very quickly.  Both Chinook Centre and Britannia Plaza (Sunterra Market) are only minutes away.  Downtown Calgary is 6 kilometres north of both neighbourhoods and can be accessed via Elbow Drive.

Bel-Aire and Mayfair are represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 11 Alderman Brian Pincott, and also by MLA Alison Redford in the riding of Calgary- Elbow.

Bel-Aire has a large park which sits behind the Bel-Aire school (now the Calgary Girls School, grades 4-6).  Adjacent to the park are the community tennis courts (newly resurfaced in May 2013) and a playground that was completely re-built in 2012.  Mayfair’s park has another great playground, rebuilt in 2008, and is a very busy spot in the community.  During the winter months, the ground is flooded for a skating rink, and is maintained by dedicated volunteers.
